Background and Discussion:
The Housing and Urban Development Grant (HUD) Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes (OLHCHH), the Community Services Department (CSD), and the American Rescue Plan Programs' primary objective is the development of viable urban communities by providing the following, principally for persons of low and moderate income: lead-safe and healthy housing; a suitable living environment; and expanded economic opportunities. The funds can be used for qualifying activities including acquisition, construction, and social services.

The expected long-range impact is to make Harris County homes lead-safe and provide healthy housing for a suitable living environment, developing viable urban communities primarily for low to moderate income, and expanded economic opportunities.
