Background and Discussion:

The County released an RFP in late 2020 to solicit applications from service providers, organizations, and researchers to implement a three-year program. Three organizations were selected to receive funding.

Texas Children’s Hospital was approved and will implement a community-based infant brain development initiative aimed at helping families support language development, connect to community resources, and access maternal mental health support.

The negotiated indirect cost rate agreement of 23% needs to be approved to support Texas Children’s Hospital in their implementation of services for families and children.

Expected Impact:

The approval of the indirect cost rate will allow Texas Children’s Hospital to successfully implement programming and reach expansion goals and targets as an Early Childhood Impact Fund vendor.

Alternative Options:

Not approve the indirect cost rate, therefore effecting the vendor’s ability to provide intended contractual services.
