Background and Discussion:

On August 8, 2023, the Court approved the awarding of Aldine ISD, Alief ISD, and Spring ISD up to $200,000 per District for a total of $600,000, and the original Agreement had a term of 24 months. All Parties understood that Aldine ISD, Alief ISD, and Spring ISD would procure, select, and award a contract to a single vendor that would conduct a disparity study for each of the three school districts and report its findings and recommendations. Each ISD would pay for one-third of the total cost associated with the studies. The original Agreement required the vendor to complete the study within 12 months.

After completing the procurement process and selecting the vendor for the studies, the ISDs requested a 12-month extension of the contract term without additional funding to accommodate the vendor's needs and the school districts' schedule in terms of completion of the studies and implementation of policies.
