Background and Discussion:
This 0.844-acre tract consists of roads named Gladwyne Lane and Gladwyne Court that need to be released by the City of LaPorte to construct the detention basin, which will provide approximately 16.95 acre-feet of stormwater detention storage volume.

Expected Impact:
The objective of this project is to maximize the stormwater detention volume storage and help to reduce the risk of flood damage around the Brookglen Subdivision in the Armand Bayou Watershed. Additionally, the 100-year flood plain will be reduced by 4.63 acres and 13 structures will be removed from the 100-yr floodplain.

Alternative Options:
Do not acquire the land. This would prevent the Flood Control District from being able to construct the basin and reduce flood risk in the area.

Alignment with Goal(s):
_ Justice and Safety
_ Economic Opportunity
_ Housing
_ Public Health
