Background and Discussion:
Please note that the consultant LJA Engineering was selected and approved by the Precinct to enter into negotiation of agreement with. Unfortunately, LJA is not a MWDBE firm. Due to the nature of this feasibility study which is primarily involving hydrology and hydraulics modeling, there are limited scope and budget items available to sub-consult to MWDBE firms. The areas along Hunting Bayou tributary H102-00-00 have experienced significant flooding in the past and require thoughtful examination of flooding causes and applicable solutions. The neighborhoods south of IH10 along this tributary of Hunting Bayou are urban and densely populated with older (post WWII) homes where substantial upgrades to the secondary drainage system in addition to channel improvements may be necessary to reduce flooding entirely.
