Background and Discussion:
On February 25, 2020, Commissioners Court approved Harris County Community Services Department's (HCCSD) request to apply for Homeless Housing and Services Program Youth-set- aside (HHSP) funding to provide housing stability case management services to 35 eligible youth headed households for a period of 5 months beginning April 1, 2020 and ending on August 31, 2020. Then on March 24, 2020, Commissioners Court approved the acceptance of a grant award from Child Care Council of Greater Houston, Inc. in the amount of $199,141 to provide housing case management to 70 eligible youth headed households during the grant period of April 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020. Then on August 10, 2020, HCCSD received notification from the Child Care Council that HCCSD's PY2020 HHSP program was extended to November 30, 2020 for the purpose of continuing to provide housing stability case management services to eligible youth headed households and expend any remaining funds. Commissioner Court approved the grant extension on August 25, 2020. Subsequently, on October 28, 2020, HCCSD received notification from the City of Houston that HCCSD was awarded $266,962 for the extension of the PY2020 HYSP-Homeless Youth Services Program (formerly referred to as HHSP-Homeless Prevention and Youth Services Case Management Program) beginning on December 15, 2020 and ending on August 31, 2021 for the purpose of continuing to provide housing stability case manage...
