Background and Discussion:

Harvard Medical School partnered with the Mobile Healthcare Association to provide grants to ten (10) health organizations nationwide for evaluating the efficacy of their mobile health operations. Harris County Public Health (HCPH) was selected based on its proposed evaluation of whether Harris County residents who receive HCPH mobile health services/interventions experience a quantifiable increase in their access to health care. HCPH requested to revise the grant budget and term to allow for staff to attend the Mobile Health Clinics Conference. The grantor approved the extension and budget changes.

Expected Impact:

With the oversight and participation of Harvard Medical School as independent evaluation assessors, the expected impact is a quantifiable assessment of how much HCPH mobile health services improve access to care for the community, which services experience greater success and data from which to calculate the Return on Investment (ROI) for the County. The algorithm for this ROI calculation has been created by Harvard Medical School in partnership with Harvard Business School.
