Background and Discussion:
The Authority is a political subdivision of the City, the County and the State of Texas created for the purposes set forth in the Concurrent Order and the Act, including planning, acquiring, establishing, developing, constructing or renovating of one or more sports and community venue projects and related infrastructure. The Authority shall have and exercise all of the rights, powers, privileges, authority and functions given by the general laws of Texas to a political subdivision.
Expected Impact:
Appointment of an at-large position previously appointed by Precinct 1, which will enable continuity of operations and leadership on the board. Because this vacancy occurred due to a board member's resignation, the incoming nominee should serve out the remainder of the former member's unexpired term which, as established by the board's bylaws, is August 31st of even-numbered years.
