Background and Discussion:
Traffic signals are installed to improve the operation of an intersection and better facilitate pedestrian activities. A traffic study was conducted at the intersection of Cypresswood Drive at Purple Wisteria Lane, warranting a traffic signal.

Expected Impact:
The installation of the new traffic signal should improve the operation of the intersection.

Alternative Options:
Intersections are evaluated in accordance with the 2011 Texas Manual on Uniform Control Devices (TMUTCD), which takes into consideration traffic volume, crashes, pedestrian activity, and the roadway network. The intersection was evaluated, and a traffic signal was warranted. One alternative option is to install a multi-way stop control at the intersection. However, this is recommended as an interim measure while arrangements are being made for the installation of a traffic signal per the TMUTCD.
