Background and Discussion:
Funds for the purpose of managing/administering the UASI grant program. This request will fund staff positions to assist with management and administration of the grant. They will help in the regional administration of the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), including project entry, reviewing expenditure requests, jurisdictional liaisons, and other eGrant and grant-related activities.
Expected Impact:
This funding will support management and administration of the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) through the work of the HSGP Director and HSGP Deputy Director positions.
Alternative Options:
Without this funding, the County would need to find alternate funding, possibly utilizing general funds, to maintain a robust Homeland Security Program.
