Background and Discussion: Family Place Libraries (tm) is a proprietary program designed to enhance the parent/child bond and parents' confidence in their parenting skills. The bulk of the program is delivered through specially-designed workshops, which are delivered at the libraries. The libraries are outfitted with toys and inviting spaces for the families to play together. This grant allows the program to be installed in five branch libraries.
Expected Impact: This program provides high-quality parenting training to people who may otherwise be unable to access such services. In addition, it also teaches participants how to access community services.
Alternative Options: The Library could not accept this grant, in which case these libraries will remain without Family Place programs.
