Background and Discussion:
The Vietnam Combat Veterans Association wants to honor and pay tribute to the fallen warriors in Harris and surrounding counties who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam by donating the Vietnam Fallen Warriors Monument. This generous donation and installation will be overseen by Bobby Schlitzberger (Schlitzberger & Daughters Monument Co). The projected costs for granite and labor are $522,000, all made through personal and corporate contributions to the Vietnam Combat Veterans Association and by Bobby Schlitzberger.

The installation of the monument was approved by the City of Houston pursuant to the existing Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for Veterans Memorial Park which is between Harris County and the City of Houston.

Expected Impact:
The monument will appeal to the Veteran community and their loved ones, as well as residents, who wish to honor these Fallen Veterans.
