Background and Discussion:
This Contract Change is to add 72 days to the contract time due to the delay by TXDOT at the Calhoun bridge project. Previous contract change added 184 days to the contract time because TXDOT's projected completion date for their bridge project was June 30, 2022. TXDOT has changed their projected completion date to September 11, 2022. This change extends the contract time to December 11, 2022, to provide James Construction additional days to perform the work - from September 12, 2022, to December 11, 2022.
Expected Impact:
This RCA is required to complete the District construction contract under original or needed revised scope.
Alternative Options:
This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
