Project Description:
Reginald Moore Park is a 23-acre public green space in unincorporated Alief located within 1.5 miles of 52,000 residents and eight schools. The Park is one of the few green spaces in the area and lacks several amenities critical to community health and well-being. Harris County identifies the Park and surrounding neighborhood as a low-to-moderate (LMI) income target area; approximately 45% of residents are LMI, 24% live below the federal poverty line, and 68% are people of color. Additionally, the Houston-Harris Heat Action Team ranks this neighborhood among the 10% of the hottest areas in the county due to limited tree canopy.
