Background and Discussion:
The existing Rankin Road is a typical 4 Lane asphalt road with no median within 80-ft ROW. The proposed typical section options are to be determined during Study Phase: 3 lanes including two-way left turn lane in places or 4 lanes with raised median and left turn lanes. The sidewalk can be installed behind the curb. There is no bus route along Rankin Road. Construction of this project is being funded with federal pass-thru funds from Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and managed by Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
Expected Impact:
The project will reconstruct the existing 1.75-mile asphalt pavement and provide a typical concrete pavement section from face of curb to face of curb with 6-foot-wide sidewalks and ADA ramps. The design proposes replacing the existing open ditches with an underground storm sewer...
