Background and Discussion:
The TVC Financial Assistance Grant enables the Veteran Services Department (VSD) to provide rental, utility, and personal vehicle repair assistance to Harris County veterans, their dependents, and surviving spouses who are experiencing a financial emergency. The Harris County Veteran Services Department was awarded the Texas Veterans Commission Financial Assistance Grant for a new grant term of 09/01/2026 - 08/31/2027.
This request is to extend the associated grant funded position. In addition to extending the position, the project ID coding associated with this position needs to be remapped to the new project Id grant coding with a payroll effective date of 08/22/2026.
Expected Impact:
The grant increases the economic stability of veterans and their families in Harris County. Extending the associated PCN will better enable VSD to execute the services under the grant award.
