Request for approval to accept from Jisselle Fariza Campos the donation of a used Canon Rebel T7 Camera, bag, cords, and related accessories valued at $450.00 for the Harris County Leadership Academy.

Background and Discussion:
The Leadership Academy has developed an in-house photography program called Focus Forward. It is a four-week program with one-hour classes each week, designed to teach up to 6 youth who have earned incentives to engage in extra programming.
Expected Impact:
The program will teach youth the basic functions of a camera, foster creativity and positive self-expression, and improve attention to detail, patience, and focus. The program will also promote teamwork, communication skills, and responsibility when handling equipment.
Youth may also assist with photographing approved facility events, including family fun days, sporting events, graduations, and special programs. There will be one supervised photography field trip at the conclusion of the program.
Alternative Options:
The Harris County General Fund will be used to purchase the camera should this donation not be accepted.
