Background and Discussion:
The detention expansion is in response to address homes being flooded in the Tax Day Flood and in Hurricane Harvey.

Expected Impact:
In response to those flood events, the districts developed a plan to expand the SWDB from a dry-bottom to a wet-bottom facility thereby increasing the capacity by as much as 200 acre-feet.

Alternative Options:
Failure to do this will result in further flooding in the community.
