Background and Discussion:
The purpose of the Texas Epidemiology Capacity Expansion Grant is to conduct surveillance and epidemiology activities for all notifiable conditions under the responsibility of the Emerging and Acute Infectious Disease Unit (EAIDU/SUR) contract effective September 1, 2023, and denominated DSHS Contract No. HHS001315700021 ("Contract") now desiring to amend the Contract. The grant will allow the opportunity to establish, expand, train, and sustain Harris County Public Health's workforce to support jurisdictional preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives, including school-based health programs.
