Background and Discussion:
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Title V grant amendment will allow Harris County Public Health Dental Program to accept the additional funding of $111,908 for the current grant year, which ends August 3, 2025. The Title V grant supports provision of dental services to uninsured children and adolescents at Southeast and Humble dental locations.

Expected Impact:
Over 4,000 dental visits will be provided to uninsured children and adolescents in Harris County in FY2025 with Title V funding. Without these funds, many of the recipients served by this grant would not have access to dental care. Patients will benefit from receiving diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and basic surgical procedures, which will prevent unnecessary visits to the Emergency Department for dental pain.
