Background and Discussion:
HCTRA was a part of the electric vehicle (EV) pilot project approved by Commissioners Court on May 10, 2022, to acquire EV's and their charging infrastructure. Subsequently, HCTRA's locations were not included in the request approved by Commissioners Court on November 15, 2022 for the procurement of the installation of electric vehicle supply equipment.

This agreement will allow CenterPoint Energy to install a secondary Point of Service (POS) at the HCTRA Maintenance Yard. This will allow HCTRA in the future to install EV charging stations in adherence to the Harris County Climate Action Plan for Clean Fleet and Commuting (Goal 3: Shift County Fleet to Zero - or Low-Emission Vehicles; Strategy 3.1: Implementing New Technologies to Retrofit Fleet and Use Less Fuel.)
