Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office (HCFMO) is committed to the health and safety of its employees.
Ensuring the HCFMO and its employees remain compliant with local, state and federal guidelines, as
well as best practices, it is required that all employees working or around a hazardous atmosphere as part of
their regular work duties conduct a health screening/physical that meets the standards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1582.


Expected Impact:
This service for employees monitors their respective physical health conditions throughout their
career with the HCFMO. A health baseline is established for each employee that can be used for comparison
throughout their career. This not only meets industry requirements; it creates a healthy workplace resulting in
less time-off and lower health related claims
