Background and Discussion:
The County executed an agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Stevens Technical Services Inc. in 2024 and now seeks to amend the agreement for the first time. This amendment will facilitate the additional design services required for signal design at one of the intersections of this project, Hufsmith Road at Stuebner Airline Road. The general scope of this project consists of upgrading Hufsmith Rd, Tomball, and includes construction of 3 intersection upgrades. Precinct 3 seeks improved lanes at Hufsmith Rd & FM 2978, Stuebner Airline Rd realignment, & Kuykendahl Rd lane changes.
Expected Impact:
The approval of this amendment will allow the Prime consultant to provide the additional signal design needed for the intersection Hufsmith Road at Stuebner Airline Road. The completion of design and construction of this project will improve the existent road conditions for the community in the specified area.
Alternative Options:
The alternative is to continue with the original scope and not include a signal at the Hufsmith Road and Stuebner Airline Road intersection.
