Request for approval of continued participation of one additional employee with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service as a member of the Texas A&M Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team at no cost to the county.

Background and Discussion:
The MOU approved by Commissioners Court on June 27, 2023, file 23-3542, the allows approved employee
from the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office to continue their participation in the Texas A&M Task Force 1
Urban Search and Rescue team (US&R). The US&R activities are performed at the request of the State and the
Federal government and provided at the option of the Employer and Member. These activities may be in
conjunction with, or in preparation for, a state or federal declaration of disaster. Training activities are
mandated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/FEMA and TEEX to maintain TX-TF1 operational
readiness. Period of Performance: MOU begins January 30, 2024, and terminates October 31, 2029.

One additional personnel can deploy during activation.
