Background and Discussion:
On August 31, 2022, Harris County Commissioners Court approved a grant agreement between the County and the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funds in the amount of $750 million. On February 22, 2023, Commissioners Court approved the Harris County Method of Distribution (MOD) for the CDBG-MIT grant funds for submission of the MOD. The GLO approved the County's MOD on March 21, 2023, including planning activities. On September 19, 2023, Commissioners Court approved a resolution to complete planning activity applications for CDBG-MIT funding based on GLO's guidelines and submit those applications to the GLO for up to $29,500,000 in planning activity funding. On July 15, 2024, Commissioners Court approved an updated list of CDBG-MIT planning projects.
