Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. The Mercer stormwater detention basin project includes excavation of approximately 970,000 cubic yards of material, as well as the install drainage, control structures and all-weather access for an approximately 52-acre site. The purpose of this contract change is to increase the contract duration of the project adding 124 days for adjusted work scope as a result of imposed TxDot construction access permit working hour restrictions.

Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.
