Background and Discussion:
The purpose of the Harris County Climate Justice Advisory Collaborative is to convene a group of local community leaders to guide the Harris County climate justice planning process, serve as ambassadors in their respective communities, and identify outreach and engagement activities that could increase awareness and preparedness for climate impacts. The members of this Collaborative will not only uplift the voices of their fellow community members but also encourage active community engagement and leadership in advancing pilot projects associated with the Climate Justice Plan, adopted by Commissioners Court on April 10, 2025.

Expected Impact:
Collaborative members guided the planning process by serving as ambassadors for the project in their own communities and identified early action projects that increased awareness and preparedness about local climate impacts. The stipend compensates Collaborative members for their participation in roundtable meetings, community town halls, and serving as outreach ambassadors of this initiative with their outreach activities.
