Background and Discussion:
Each year, prior to the renewal of a grant's program year (October 1, 2025), the County department responsible for administering the grant must request approval of the commissioners to extend the end date of each affected grant funded position. As per Harris County Auditor's accounting and grant setup procedure G.5
"Grant Renewals/Rollovers", new grant end dates have been established to accommodate the required position extensions.

Expected Impact:
Enables HCD to utilize grant funds and its related positions involved in grant related programs and projects that improve the quality of life in the low-and moderate-income areas of the county and to identify and provide services for housing, homeless, and community development.

Alternative Options:
If the positions are not extended, HCD would not have the benefit of the positions to provide services to the residents of Harris County.
