Background and Discussion:
This Disaster Recovery Action Plan is written to meet the requirements set forth by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for accessing Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds that were allocated to the County on January 16, 2025. This CDBG-DR funding is intended to support the County's recovery from the Houston Derecho and Hurricane Beryl by addressing recovery needs that cannot be met by other sources, such as resources from insurance, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs, Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, or other recovery resources.

The County has 90 days from the effective date of the allocation announcement (January 21, 2025) to submit this Action Plan to HUD, which must include a 30-day public comment period and Harris County Commissioner's Court approval to submit the Plan.

Expected Impact:
The approval of the DR-Action Plan by HUD will allow ?Harris County? to receive ?$67,326,000.00? in funding to support long-term recovery efforts.
