Background and Discussion:
This is a request for Louisiana State University (LSU) students to potentially begin an internship with the Harris County Sheriff's Office in the Fall Semester of 2025. LSU helps students meet their college degree's elective requirements (School of Social Work) and provides insight into what to expect in a career in Social Work.
This is an unpaid internship, and the agency assisting with the internship can also interview the student to ensure they will be professional and can work with employees at the agency. The Harris County Sheriff's Office would only be the facility to provide students with work experience if it has an area for the student to complete their internship (HCSO Reentry Programs).
