Background and Discussion:
This is a request to authorize negotiation for an agreement that will provide materials engineering and testing services for construction projects throughout the County. The intent of these general maintenance projects is to conduct priority general drainage repairs in Harris County. Major emphasis of this repair work will be earthwork, including but not limited to erosion repair, slope failure repair, removal and disposal of sediment accumulations, granular fill and riprap installation, pipe removal and replacement, headwall and wingwall removal and replacement, concrete channel lining removal and replacement, concrete low-flow removal and replacement, outfall structure removal and replacement and related items. To confirm the work is done properly, a construction materials testing firm is needed.
