Background and Discussion:
The project is located in north Harris County in the Cypress Creek watershed, north of FM 1960, south of Cypress Creek, and east of Hardy Toll Road. The project area consists of approximately 84 acres of single-family residential homes. The existing system is a concrete curb and gutter and primarily drains into Briar Creek (K117-00-00). The scope of the project includes constructing a drainage swale and underlying storm sewer behind the commercial tract along FM 1960.

Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Memorial Hills community. The fiscal impact for this project will come from the 1080 Funding for the Recovery and Resiliency Division subdivision projects with the long-term goal of reducing drainage costs in the future.
As a result of low overhead electric and communication lines, Contractor refused to develop alternative construction methods to work around those lines. The Contractor has requested to terminate the award. The project is expected to be re-bid after termination of this contract and raising select electrical and telecommunications lines...
