Background and Discussion:
Each year, prior to the renewal of a grant's program year (October 1, 2024), the County department responsible
for administering a grant must request approval of the commissioners to extend the end date of each affected
grant funded position. As per Harris County Auditor's accounting and grant setup procedure G.5 "Grant Renewals/Rollovers", the department ID's, grant project, and activities are established in order to accommodate the required position extensions and subsequent roll. Positions funded through Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant, HOME program, and one special revenue position are included in this request.

With the renewal of the grant's program year the reassignment of all CDBG, HOME, and ESG grant funded positions to their newly created department IDs, project and activity and the positions will be extended to a new end date of September 30, 2025.



Expected Impact:
Enables HCHCD to utilize grant funds and its related positions involved in grant related programs and projects that improve the quality of life in the low-and moderate-income areas of the county and to identify and provide services for housing, homeless, and community development.
