Background and Discussion:

This project is located approximately 2.5 miles from Highway US-290 north of North Houston Road, east of N. Eldridge Parkway, and west of Hoffmeister Road. The scope of this project is to regrade 12,850 linear feet of roadside ditches, upsize culverts, replace driveways, and replace existing roadway throughout the subdivision to the Harris County standards.

 

The Change in contract request new items for the following:

 

Final Adjustments: Adding 44 calendar days with an addition of $151,357.62 for reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction with estimated quantities used for completing the proposed scope of work.

Holiday Delay - Adding 10 calendar days at the petition of the Precinct, the Contractor stopped excavating concrete pavement work before the Thanksgiving Holidays to make sure that two lanes were open on Jasper Road.

 

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Westgate U/R Subdivision Drainage Improvements - (2018).

 

Alternative Options:

The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the retainage and final adjustment in quantities will not be paid to the contractor.
