Background and Discussion:
The purpose of this request is to ensure that the department has sufficient financial resources to carry out all necessary preparations and conduct a smooth and successful election process. The additional funding will be utilized towards procuring necessary equipment, hiring and training additional full-time staff, upgrading existing infrastructure systems, such as the iPads. This budget request is intended to cover the remaining fiscal year 2024 and reflects the department’s commitment to ensuring a fair and efficient democratic process for all voters in Harris County.
