Background and Discussion:

COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted reproductive healthcare, disrupting access to services such as contraceptives, routine screenings, and family planning services due to healthcare shortages and precautions. In response, the Reproductive Healthcare Access Fund (RHAF) project aims to increase outreach, education, and direct utilization of reproductive healthcare services. This objective is achieved through supplemental funding to grassroots organizations that provide direct clinical reproductive health services in targeted areas and/or educate, promote, and connect Harris County community members to reproductive healthcare services within identified target areas.

Expected Impact:

Establish a comprehensive approach towards reproductive outreach and education to clients, community members, and leaders within Harris County. The subrecipient’s Outreach and Education plan consists of reproductive health education materials, hosting community events, and creating partnerships to expand access. These activities will help priority populations and communities to increase education, reduce early/unplanned pregnancies, provide tobacco cessation and other related topics.
