Background and Discussion:

The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) is a comprehensive survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to assess the prevalence, incidence, and consequences of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking in the United States. It provides valuable data on various aspects of these forms of violence, including the types experienced, perpetrators involved, and impact on victims' health and well-being. The data collected informs public health policies and interventions aimed at preventing intimate partner violence and sexual violence, as well as providing support and services to survivors, making it a crucial resource for guiding efforts to address these issues effectively at all levels.

Expected Impact:

Requesting data from the University of Michigan will enable us to evaluate Partner and Sexual Violence trends and discern patterns at the zip-code level of social vulnerability. By pinpointing areas requiring specialized intervention, we can enhance domestic violence intervention programs, effectively targeting resources where they are most needed. This data will also inform public health leaders about these relationships, facilitating the improvement of their recommendations and ultimately leading to more effective strategies for addressing partner and sexual violence in our community.
