Background and Discussion:

Traffic Signal - Kuykendahl Road at Alvin A. Klein Drive is a project to enhance traffic movements at the existing intersection. The service outlet location statement is needed to establish electrical service from CenterPoint Energy, LLC to power the new traffic signal.

Expected Impact:

Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy, LLC to establish electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the operation of the intersection of Kuykendahl Road at Alvin A. Klein Drive.

Alternative Options:

All traffic signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy, LLC. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or to not install a traffic signal at the intersection. Both options will negatively impact operations and increase the delay of the intersection.
