Background and Discussion:
On July 20, 2021, Harris County Commissioners Court approved Huitt-Zollars, Inc. to conduct the Aldine Region Comprehensive Study for Harris County. The goal of the study was to provide guidance for future project development to maximize community impact within areas covered by the East Aldine Management District, the Airline Improvement District, and the North Houston Management District. The scope of the study included collecting and integrating past studies developed for the Aldine area, development of a unified integrated plan and project recommendations to improve the community.
Expected Impact:
The expected impact of this study is to provide recommendations and a project list for the Aldine area. This project list is based on a robust needs assessment of the Aldine area and has project scopes, cost estimates and conceptual layouts of the top 20 most-needed projects in the area. The project list will help to take next steps for implementation to make infrastructure improvements in the area.

The alternative option is to carry out project development in the Aldine area without a needs assessment, review of the past studies and benefit of the top 20 prioritized projects.
