Background and Discussion:
This project has two components: (1) overtime funding for targeted law enforcement operations in areas with high rates of violent crime, and (2) overtime funding for community engagement forums to address the negative perception of law enforcement in areas with the greatest amount of gang and violent crime.
Expected Impact:
This grant will enable the Sheriff’s Office to reduce violent crime in our community.
Alternative Options:
Not applying for this grant would reduce the hours spent working to reduce violent crime.
