Background and Discussion:

The project is located in north Harris County in the Cypress Creek watershed, north of FM 1960, south of Cypress Creek, and east of Hardy Toll Road.  The project area consists of approximately 84 acres of single-family residential homes. The existing system is a concrete curb and gutter and primarily drains into Briar Creek (K117-00-00). A 72" RCP with associated inlets also aids in draining the western portion of the site. The scope of the project includes constructing a drainage swale and underlying storm sewer behind the commercial tract along FM 1960. Improvements will comply with Harris County standards.

Expected Impact:

This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.

Alternative Options:

Construction materials testing is required by state law.
