Background and Discussion:
On February 8, 2022, Commissioner's court approved the Preliminary Investment Memo request of $1,500,000 to provide professional services for the detailed design of the forensic genetics lab relocation, the morgue expansion, the relocation of other HCIFS departments during renovation, and the design plan of floors currently occupied. This is a request to negotiate with consultant and utilize some of the previously approved funding for the building HVAC system.
Expected Impact:
The HCIFS building is experiencing issues of poor air circulation, which in turn has caused mold growth. With the upcoming renovations and expansions to the building, this problem will only be exasperated and become a greater issue for the building health and the health of the occupants.
Upon approval to proceed, the consultant will assessment the HVAC system and provide detailed recommendation for building HVAC system improvements for better efficiency.

If this RCA is not approved, IFS will continue to experience issues of poor air circulation, leading to unhealthy an environment.
