Background and Discussion:
In response to the destruction wrought by Hurricane Harvey that underscored critical shortages in Harris County’s inventory of affordable homes, Harris County’s Single-Family New Construction Program (SFNCP) matches individuals and families with opportunities to purchase new affordable homes in growing developments throughout the county. Approval to enter Interlocal Agreement will allow for the new single-family development of approximately 47 homes to have wastewater capacity in the High Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant of the District’s reserved capacity.
Expected Impact:
Allow Harris County to match individuals and families with opportunities to purchase flood resilient homes in growing developments throughout the county.

No viable alternative options are available within the grant funding timelines due to the very tight grant funding critical path that remains.
