Background and Discussion:

NACCHO has sought to improve the public's health while adhering to a set of core values: equity, excellence, participation, respect, integrity, leadership, science & innovation. NACCHO provides valuable resources and tools that allow local public health departments to develop and adhere to best practices. Through a vast range of funded projects and initiatives, NACCHO builds and strengthens relationships with communities, partners, and stakeholders. Oftentimes, these projects lead to capacity building and facilitate peer exchange of best practices, as well as identifying needs and informing public policy.

Expected Impact:

Membership to NACCHO will allow Harris County Public Health to keep up to date with public health news and developments nationwide, share ideas and connect with other health departments through education, discussions, and networking, apply to receive special assistance through grants offered by NACCHO, and take advantage of other benefits offered to members.
