Background and Discussion:
Mercer Arboretum Detention Basin Drainage Project is (1) acquiring several tracts of undeveloped property totaling approximately 52.40 acres; (2) designing, engineering, and constructing a stormwater detention basin adjacent to low-to-moderate income designated communities to reduce existing and future flooding levels along Cypress Creek, thereby reducing the vulnerability of residential homes and the Mercer arboretum and Botanic Gardens to future flooding events. Project area is in Precinct 1.

This amendment authorizes design/engineering services for the project to be considered part of pre-award costs.

Expected Impact:
To Improve drainage and reduce existing and future flooding levels along Cypress Creek, thereby reducing the vulnerability of residential homes and the Mercer arboretum and Botanic Gardens to future flooding events. These activities shall benefit 11,140 persons of which 51.92% are low to moderate-income with drainage improvements.
