Request for approval to decree that the Harris County Flood Control District project serve a public purpose and public necessity requires that the Harris County Real Property Division be directed to acquire two fee simple tracts for the public project known as F212 Channel Conveyance Improvements, for the purpose of channel improvements. (Galveston Bay Watershed, Bond ID F-98, Project ID F212-00-00-C001, Precinct 2).

Background and Discussion:
This project was recommended and outlined in the Galveston Bay Watershed Planning study. The project consists of improvements to the existing F212 channel as well as the replacement of an existing reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer with a new box culvert. These improvements are needed to intercept uncontrolled sheet flows and provide capacity for 100-yr NOAA atlas 14 rainfall.
Expected Impact:
The recommended project will reduce damages for nearly all structures affected by the 100-year event.
