Background and Discussion:

Materials engineering and testing services are required to ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the Flood Control District Construction Documents. The firm proposed comes from a list of A2LA accredited CMT consultants within the Flood Control District registry with qualifications to provide materials inspection and testing services. The Contract Amount is subject to change once the appointed material testing lab submits a proposal for approval.

Expected Impact:

General repairs of stormwater conveyance facilities will improve and enhance their drainage capacity and will reduce flooding risks.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approval of this request is to either submit a request for another consultant, which would delay the effort, or for Flood Control District staff to perform the effort, which would take staff away from other efforts.
