Background and Discussion:
Walker County does not have a medical examiner; A Justice of the Peace determines if a postmortem examination is necessary, and if so, may order it to be performed by a physician. Waller County is requesting the services of the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to perform postmortem examinations on persons who died in the requesting county and related sworn testimony.
