Background and Discussion:
The proposed P118-09-00 Stormwater Detention Basin and Channel Lining Improvement includes 35 acre-feet of storage within a proposed 9.4-acre site between Langley Road and Little York Road west of P118-09-00 and replacing the existing concrete channel lining from Bigwood Street to Gleason Road. The funding is available specifically for this project in the FY22 Federal Budget and was submitted by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee, representing the 18th District of Texas. $766,270 of the required match will need to be funded through the Flood Resilience Trust, the remaining funds will be provided from the allocated C-24 2018 Bond Funds.

This grant will fund the P118-09-00 drainage improvement project through construction. This project is part of the Halls Bayou Watershed Implementation Program, which is an ongoing program that allows HCFCD to take a watershed-wide approach to planning flood risk reduction project in the Halls Bayou watershed, a historically underserved community
