Background and Discussion:

 

Project includes reconstruction of asphalt roadways at various locations within Precinct 4.  Change includes reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction with the estimated quantities included for bidding purposes. Major increased items include:

                     BASE REPAIR WITH HOT MIX ASPHATTIC CONCRETE BASE COURSE,8" - $503,995.02

                     HMAC - TYPE "D" SURFACE COURSE 1" THICK, IN CONJUNCTION WITH HIPR PROCESS (AWARDED VENDOR TO SUEMIT A SAMPLE OF SPECIFIED ITEMS FOR INSPECTION/APPROVAL BY THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ENGINEER PRIOR TO ORDER PLACEMENT), SAC A PG 64-11 - $105,828.09

 

Expected Impact:

 

Changes allow for the Contractor to be compensated for the actual quantities completed on the project and for the additional time required to complete the additional work requested by Precinct 4.
